Family
The Councilman is very proud of his family connection to the Borough. In 1931, his grandfather John A. Cervieri, Sr., built and relocated his real estate, insurance and travel agencies from Suffern, NY to the first exit of the George Washington Bridge, coinciding with its opening. In the early 1950s, he developed and built the first high-rise building in the Borough, Palisade Terrace, which still stands at 1450 Palisade Avenue. Additionally, in 1963 Joseph L. Cervieri, Sr., Joe's dad, along with two partners, formed Triangle Film Laboratories on Main Street on the site of Bonded Films. Joe strongly believes the diversity of our community and its rich history are a just a few of the town's greatest assets, making us one of the most progressive and innovative communities in the country.
Education
Joe earned his Bachelor of the Arts degree Cum Laude in Economics from Boston College. He is married to his wife and high school sweetheart, JoAnn Hein, also a third generation Fort Lee resident. Together they love spending time with their two dogs and two cats, and enjoys the culture the NY Metropolitan Area offers.
