The Borough of Fort Lee now works with PayByPhone to let you pay for vehicle parking in seconds. The service can be found at street parking locations and parking lots throughout the Borough. The app is a completely cashless solution, reminds you when your parking session is about to expire, and even lets you extend your parking time from anywhere! PayByPhone is convenient, easy and secure.
Fort Lee Parking Authority in cooperation with PayByPhone operates a its service in on-street parking and all Fort Lee lots managed by the Parking Authority, including:
Guntzer Street Lot
Gerome Street Lot
540 Main Street Lot
Center Avenue Lot
Warren Street Lot
In each area, participating meters are individually labeled with mobile phone parking instructions.
Benefits of Using PAYBYPHONE
It’s the fastest and easiest way to pay for parking. You’ll receive text alerts when your parking session is about to expire. You can extend time remotely within the allowable maximum time limit. You can view your parking transactions online or via the mobile app.
How to Register for PayByPhone
Before using the service, you need to register in the PayByPhone system.
To register: Download the FREE PayByPhone app from your device’s app store, or visit https://www.paybyphone.com/ to sign up. A $0.40 convenience fee will apply to each session along with the Fort Lee parking fee. You may always check your account balance in the PayByPhone app or online at https://www.paybyphone.com/.
Please note that standard parking rules apply for Pay-by-Mobile parking as well and parking beyond the maximum time allowable in a parking zone is not permitted.
How to Park by App
Download the free PayByPhone app from your mobile device’s app store.
When you arrive at a parking meter:
Open the PayByPhone app
Enter the location and meter number (located on the meter decal)
Select the amount of time you wish to park
Click on "Park Now" to begin parking
How to Call to Park
Don’t have a smart phone? Simply to call to park. Dial the PayByPhone service number displayed on parking meters and signs. Existing users will be prompted to enter the 4 or 5 digit location number, and parking time required. New users will be guided through a registration process. Once you have heard conﬁrmation that your parking has started you may leave your vehicle. Parking details will be sent to the handheld units the Parking Enforcement Officers patrol with. Extend your parking at any time. Simply call the number you dialed in Step 1. Your account will be recognized and you will be given the option to extend your parking session or to start a new one.
