Mission Statement

The Fort Lee DPW's Roads division's primary purpose is to make all Borough operated roads and right-of-ways safe for your travel. From time to time roads will be closed. These repairs are necessary in order to improve the quality of streets you've come to expect in Fort Lee.

Report Road Hazards

Help us to help you. The Road Department is aware of most of the trouble spots in theBorough and work hard every day to repair them safely and quickly, however the conditions of the roads are ever changing. Please call and alert the Department of Public Works to road hazards such as potholes, sinkholes, wash-outs, etc. at 201-592-3632 or by filling out our form here.


All non-County roads in the Borough are maintained by the Fort Lee Department of Pothole RepairPublic Works.

Road repairs for county roads are completed by the Bergen County Department of Public Works (DPW). Please contact the Bergen County DPW at 201-646-2808 for any questions/concerns.


State roads that run through Fort Lee include:

  • Palisades Interstate Parkway
  • Route 4
  • Route 5
  • Route 67
  • Interstate 95 (the northern terminus of the New Jersey Turnpike)
  • U.S. Route 9W
  • U.S. Route 1-9
  • U.S. Route 46
  • U.S. Route 80
