BRIDGES, TUNNELS AND RAIL ADVISORY FOR MAY 13 TO 19

Lane Closures Planned This Week at the George Washington Bridge, Holland Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel and Bayonne Bridge
LaGuardia Link Q70 is Now Fare-Free Year-Round
For the week of May 13 to 19, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey encourages all travelers who use the agency’s facilities to plan ahead and consider additional travel time due to the lane closures or service changes detailed below.

LANE CLOSURES IN EFFECT 
George Washington Bridge:
• From 11 p.m. Friday, May 13, to 8 a.m. Saturday, May 14, one eastbound lane on the upper level will be closed.
• From 11 p.m. Friday, May 13, to 8 a.m. Saturday, May 14, one eastbound lane on the lower level will be closed.
• From 11 p.m. Friday, May 13, to 8 a.m. Saturday, May 14, two eastbound lanes on the approach to the upper level will be closed.
• From 11 p.m. Friday, May 13, to 8 a.m. Saturday, May 14, all westbound lanes on the lower level will be closed. New Jersey-bound motorists can use the upper level.
• From 11:59 p.m. Friday, May 13, to 8 a.m. Saturday, May 14, the lower-level eastbound ramp from the northbound Henry Hudson Parkway to 178th Street will be closed. Motorists to NY can use eastbound lanes on the upper level to exit at 178th Street.
• From 11:59 p.m. Friday, May 13, to 8 a.m. Saturday, May 14, the ramp from westbound lanes on the upper level to the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway will be closed. New Jersey-bound motorists can exit at Center Avenue for the Palisades Interstate Parkway.
• From 10 p.m. Saturday, May 14, to noon Sunday, May 15, all lanes on the lower level will be closed due to the 2022 Gran Fondo New York Bicycle Race. New York-bound motorists can use the upper level.
• From 10 p.m. Saturday, May 14, to noon Sunday, May 15, the ramp from the northbound Henry Hudson Parkway to westbound lanes on the lower level will be closed due to the 2022 Gran Fondo New York Bicycle Race. New Jersey-bound motorists can use the upper level.

Holland Tunnel:
• From 11 p.m. Friday, May 13, to 8 a.m. Saturday, May 14, the New York-bound tube of the Holland Tunnel will be closed due to ongoing Superstorm Sandy-related repairs. The New Jersey-bound tube remains open at all times during work.
• On Sunday, May 15, from 11 p.m. through 5 a.m. the following morning, and on multiple overnights through fall 2022, the New York-bound tube of the Holland Tunnel will be closed due to ongoing Superstorm Sandy-related repairs. • From Sunday, May 15, through Thursday, May 19, from 11:59 p.m. each night through 5:30 a.m. the following morning, one westbound lane will be closed.

Lincoln Tunnel:
• From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, one access ramp will remain closed. New York-bound traffic in the center and the south tubes and New Jersey-bound traffic in the north and center tubes will not be affected.
• From 11 p.m. Saturday, May 14, to 11 a.m. Sunday, May 15, the south tube will be closed. New York-bound traffic will be diverted to the center tube and New Jersey-bound traffic in the north tube will not be affected.

Bayonne Bridge:
• From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, one southbound lane will be closed.
• From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 15, one southbound lane will be closed.
• On Monday, May 16 and again on Tuesday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, one northbound lane and one southbound lane will be closed.


AIRPORTS & AIRTRAIN
• MTA’s LaGuardia Link Q70 bus service is now fare free year-round to encourage the use of public transit to and from LaGuardia Airport. For details on New York Gov. • Through May 31, 2022, ongoing construction near LaGuardia Airport will require alternating lane closures on the eastbound and westbound Grand Central Parkway to accommodate the demolition of the old Central Terminal Building flyover/exit 7. Detour information will be provided through barriers and signage. For more information, visit NYC DOT’s weekly travel advisory site.
During the following hours, up to two lanes in both directions in the vicinity of the airport will be closed:
- From Sunday to Friday, from 10 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following morning
- On weekends from 10 p.m. each Friday to 8 a.m. each Saturday
- On weekends from 10 p.m. each Saturday to 10 a.m. each Sunday

PATH
• The southwest entrance to the PATH Harrison station is closed at all hours to accommodate demolition work ahead of a renovation of the station. During construction, riders are required to use traffic signal pedestrian crossings at Angelo Cifelli Drive and Guyon Drive to access a corresponding station house on the opposite side of Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard. 
• Customers who use the WTC PATH station during overnights should use the street level entrances at Fulton Street or Vesey Street via the North Concourse in the 2 World Trade Center Transit Lobby. Oculus access is limited overnight from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. to allow for enhanced cleaning and the safety and security of customers due to reduced traffic volumes. • As a reminder, the 9 Street and 23 Street stations are closed from each midnight to 5 a.m. for maintenance. Nearby PATH stations at Christopher Street, 14 Street and 33 Street remain open 24 hours a day unless otherwise noted. 
• Due to construction at the Harrison Street Station, PATH service on Saturday, May 14 will be affected between 6:30 a.m. and 11:55 p.m. from Penn Station Newark to Journal Square. A special shuttle train will operate every 40 minutes from NWK-JSQ during this period. Service between Journal Square and World Trade Center will operate every 20 minutes.
• On Sunday, May 15, service on the JSQ-33rd Street via Hoboken line will operate on a 20-minute schedule from 9:20 a.m. to 8:14 p.m. Between the hours of 10:45 a.m. and 8 p.m., PATH will operate supplemental service between Hoboken-33 Street.

COVID-19 TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS
• The Port Authority continues to follow the guidance of the New York and New Jersey public health authorities with respect to mask mandates at its public transportation facilities.
• Per current New York public health guidance, the mask mandate remains in effect for the following New York facilities:
• Port Authority Midtown Bus Terminal
• George Washington Bridge Bus Station
• World Trade Center Oculus Transportation Hub
• LaGuardia Airport
• John F. Kennedy International Airport
• New York Stewart International Airport
• Per newly issued New Jersey public health guidance, the mask mandate has been lifted for the following New Jersey facilities, but masks are now optional and welcome for all who choose to wear them:
• Newark Liberty International Airport
• Teterboro Airport
• The mask mandate remains in effect for the interstate PATH system (including stations and platforms with the exception of open-air platforms).
• Domestic travelers entering New York or New Jersey should follow CDC guidance here.
• International air travelers entering the United States through New York or New Jersey should follow CDC guidance here.
